I wish I were in a situation where I could be imaginative for pay… well, for pay that could afford me a house and support my family. As it is, my exhausting job depletes the imaginative part of my brain.

I stopped sketching on a constant basis in college. I can’t say why. I never lost my urge to create, but I think I wanted to focus too much on “college” and studies. I took a great little class through the Art Institute of Chicago that not only reinvigorated me but actually taught me some rules of composition that I must have chose to have ignored way back in junior high art classes.

I’m trying. God knows I’m trying to find my way.

Holes was based on a children’s book by Louis Sachar, so the fact that the story was intriguing likely falls on the source material. As you’ve lightly recommended the film, if I catch it on somewhere in cableland on a lazy weekend, I’ll give it a look.

And, I give Hollywood six months before unleashing a film about a blogger uncovering a government conspiracy.

I need to be better about regular physicals and exercise. My diet is pretty tame and balanced, and I’m not eating food constantly. As Megan gets bigger and more active, I must keep pace, so one way or the other, I’m going to exercise.
